Journalism Recognition
- 2025 Bernard F. Judy Scholarship: Awarded annually by the Press Club of Toledo to a student from Bowling Green State University who epitomizes the service and dedication to the profession of journalism.
- 2025 RAB Student Scholar: Selected as one of 100 students nationwide to attend the BEA2025 Conference and NAB Show in Las Vegas. During this experience, I engaged with top radio industry executives, attended a variety of professional sessions, received an exclusive tour of the NAB Show and gained valuable insight into the broadcast and media landscape.
- 2025 Alpha Epsilon Rho Honor Society for Electronic Media: Members of AERho emphasize superior scholarship and creative participation in broadcast, corporate, and digital media production and activity. Membership in AERho exemplifies excellence of work, demonstrated leadership qualities, and service to the organization, the community, and the industry.
- 2024 2nd Place News Photo Keystone Media Award: Judged and awarded by Pennsylvania news editors and collegiate news advisors for my news photo about Shippensburg University announcing a change to 9/11 ceremony.
- 2024 2nd Place Photo Story Keystone Media Award: Judged and awarded by Pennsylvania news editors and collegiate news advisors for my photo story about Shippensburg University’s 2023 Winter Commencement.
- 2024 The Slate's Adviser's Award: Awarded to students for their outstanding contribution to The Slate’s publications and newsroom.
- 2023 Slater of the Summer: Selected by management of The Slate for my contributions to the website over the summer. You can read more in The Slate.
- 2023 Press Club of Western Pennsylvania Scholarship: Awarded to an aspiring journalist from one of 29 counties in western Pennsylvania in recognition of outstanding achievement as a journalism student.
- 2023 1st Place Photo Story Keystone Media Award: Judged and awarded by Pennsylvania news editors and collegiate news advisors for my photo story about the Women’s March in Washington D.C.
- 2023 Honorable Mention Feature Photo Keystone Media Award: Judged and awarded by Pennsylvania news editors and collegiate news advisors for my feature photos about Black Violin’s performance.
- 2023 The Slate Section of the Year: Awarded by The Slate’s management, this recognizes the multimedia section for its significant, timely and newsworthy contributions to publication
Academic Recognition:
- 2024 APSCUF SU Departmental Student Award: Honors a student for exceptional academic and departmental contributions in Sociology and Anthropology.
- 2024 Department Achievement Award: Inaugural recipient of a departmental award recognizing a student who demonstrates outstanding leadership and advances excellence within the Communication, Journalism and Media Department.
- 2024 Outstanding Student Achievement: Recognizes students who go above and beyond in their academic and departmental contributions within the Sociology and Anthropology Department.
- 2024 Top Senior Grade Point Average Award: Awarded to students with the highest GPAs in the Department of Communication, Journalism and Media in recognition of academic excellence.
- 2024 Departmental Honors: Awarded to students of the Sociology and Anthropology Department with a minimum 3.3 GPA who demonstrate academic excellence through original research, community engagement and scholarly presentation. Recipients must complete at least 20 service hours, conduct independent research beyond course requirements and present their work at an external academic conference.
- 2023 Homecoming Royalty: Based on percentage of student body votes, answers in a personal interview and the amount of money raised for a selected charity, I was crowned 2023 Homecoming Royalty. Most notably, I raised $2,329.64 for the Student Emergency Fund which offers money and resources to students experiencing financial insecurity. With my fundraising, I helped 5 students stay at Shippensburg University. For more information, check out The Slate.
- Spring 2023 Dean's List: The dean’s list is an honor roll of students who have achieved academic excellence as evidenced by earning a semester Quality Point Average of 3.50 or better.
- Top Junior Grade Point Average Award: Awarded to students with the highest GPAs in the Department of Communication, Journalism and Media in recognition of academic excellence.
- Fall 2022 Dean's List: The dean’s list is an honor roll of students who have achieved academic excellence as evidenced by earning a semester Quality Point Average of 3.50 or better.
- Spring 2022 Dean's List: The dean’s list is an honor roll of full-time students who have achieved academic excellence as evidenced by earning a semester Quality Point Average of 3.50 or better.
- Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society: Awarded to sociology majors who rank in the top 35% of their class or hold a minimum 3.3 GPA overall, with at least a 3.0 GPA in sociology coursework and 12 completed credit hours in the discipline.
- Fall 2021 Dean's List: The dean’s list is an honor roll of full-time students who have achieved academic excellence as evidenced by earning a semester Quality Point Average of 3.50 or better.
- Spring 2021 Dean's List: The dean’s list is an honor roll of full-time students who have achieved academic excellence as evidenced by earning a semester Quality Point Average of 3.50 or better.
- 2021 Lighthouse Academy Graduate: Selected for a semester-long leadership program offering intensive training in professional development, communication and team leadership.
- Fall 2020 Dean's List: The dean’s list is an honor roll of full-time students who have achieved academic excellence as evidenced by earning a semester Quality Point Average of 3.50 or better.

- 2025 Bernard F. Judy Scholarship: Awarded annually by the Press Club of Toledo to a student from Bowling Green State University who epitomizes the service and dedication to the profession of journalism.
- 2024 Florence K. & Jesse J. Currier Scholarship: Selected by the School of Media and Communication faculty, this scholarship honors students for outstanding academic performance and meaningful contributions to the Falcon community.
- 2023 Press Club of Western Pennsylvania Scholarship: Awarded to an aspiring journalist from one of 29 counties in Western Pennsylvania in recognition of outstanding achievement in journalism studies by the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania.
- 2020 National Horatio Alger Scholarship: The Horatio Alger Association awards scholarships to students who demonstrate integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity and are determined to succeed. My senior year of high school I was awarded this scholarship with a 0.27-percent acceptance rate and awarded to only 106 students nationwide. - 2020 William F. Matson Scholarship: Awarded by the Pennsylvania Rural Electric Association, this scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate academic achievement, strong aptitude test scores and financial need.
- 2020 Bedford Business and Professional Women’s Club Scholarship: This is awarded to outstanding students who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in the field of business, and can be read about in the Bedford Gazette.
- Shippensburg University Foundation Scholarship: Awarded the through contributions from alumni, friends, corporations and associates of the Shippensburg University Foundation, this scholarship recognizes students based on merit.
- Raider Success Scholarship: This scholarship from Shippensburg University is based upon academic success.
- Board of Governors Scholarship: Full-tuition, merit-based scholarship awarded to Pennsylvania students who graduated first or second in their high school class.
