Allyson Ritchey

Working with students has been one of the most rewarding parts of my graduate experience. Here's feedback (edited for clarity, anonymity and brevity) from students and courses I've had the privilege to teach and support:

"Working under my Executive Producer, Allyson, for the BG24 newscast, I had the privilege of having her teach and guide me when I first joined the team. She answered every question I had and did so with a smile and laugh. Allyson is truly a team player. When our usual weather reporter fell ill this week, Allyson stepped in at the last moment to present the weather on air and looked like a total pro doing it. She is a quick thinker, always has an answer to every question, and can juggle multiple production roles while genuinely having fun, which is impressive. Every day at BG24, I know she has my back."

I majored in education until fairly recently, so I know how difficult it can be to make teaching materials, and you did a great job."

"I had the pleasure of working with Allyson on Bowling Green State University’s weekly student-run newscast, BG24 and BG Weekly, for several months. As Executive Producer and a master’s student, Allyson worked with undergrad reporters and anchors of all skill levels. Her calm demeanor, excellent problem-solving skills, guidance and feedback were all second-to-none, especially in an environment where students are learning and may be unfamiliar. Allyson’s ability to give feedback and constructiveness is one that will be so useful anywhere she goes, and is an excellent example of the leadership skills she possesses. Something I enjoyed as a reporter was Allyson’s passion for making something that is good even greater, and handling whatever is thrown her way.
